I have it on inside information that Competitor Group is planning to announce next week that it has acquired the troubled Las Vegas Marathon. The Las Vegas Marathon could become a Rock N Roll Marathon as early as this coming December.
An announcement is expected next week.
Competitor has been on a tear this year buying up races, including the Chicago Distance Classic and Denver Marathon. They have also announced a new race in Seattle to add to their stable of 25 events around the country.
Las Vegas seems like the perfect place for a stop on the Rock N Roll Marathon with plenty of potential tie ins to Elvis, music and the Las Vegas partying culture.
