Has your running coach ever told you something with which you didn’t agree? Or perhaps that you just didn’t like? Maybe he or she told you not to run in a race or to stop training until you see a doctor? If you’re like a lot of runners you may have not followed that advice. On this week’s program we talk about what we call “participation against advice.” When coach (or doctor) says no, and you do it anyway.
On this week’s episode:
— Why do marathon runners ignore their coaches and doctors?
— What factors do coaches weigh to provide advice to their runners?
— How should you weigh advice that you’re receiving from your coach or doctor before making a decision about your training?
