Runners are often obsessed with their weekly mileage. “How much do you run?” you ask them and they say something like “50 miles per week.” But we’re always talking about quality over quantity, so that leads as to look at a different side of the equation this week: does a workout have to be long to be challenging?
In fact some very short workouts we can think up could be a real torture test for most runners. Try running 16 x 200M nearly as hard as you can with one minute rest between. Tough workout? Yes. Total distance: 2 miles.
This week we explore why (excuse the pun) length isn’t everything. (Ho Ho.)
On this week’s episode:
– Short workouts that will challenge you
– Busting the myth that mileage is the only metric of a good workout
– Why running shorter, faster workouts are helpful to your fitness as a runner
This week’s episode was recorded live at Road Runner Sports in Tempe, Arizona. We thank Road Runner Sports for hosting us.
