Triathlon: Iron Girl Lake Las Vegas broadcast on NBC

The Aflac Iron Girl Lake Las Vegas event will be showcased on July 26, 2008, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. EST on NBC. The telecast will showcase a highly competitive professional field, as well as stories of inspirational age-group females ranging in age and fitness level.

The show was taped on location April 12, 2008 at Lake Las Vegas Resort, a residential and resort destination situated on a privately owned, 320-acre lake just 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. The telecast will focus on the longer-distance course consisting of a 1.5K swim, a 40K bike and a 10K run, with highlights from the sprint race.

“Iron Girl is an example of ordinary women doing extraordinary things. Our athletes include not only those whose livelihood depends on performance, but also those who may be your Mom, neighbor or sister. Their passion and dedication exemplifies the mission of Iron Girl,” said Iron Girl Vice President, Judy Molnar.

Launched in 2004 with just two events, the Iron Girl brand has grown to now include ten events nationwide, varying in distance from 5K to duathlon and triathlon. To date, more than 14,000 women have crossed an Iron Girl finish line.
