Broadcasts: Berlin Marathon live Internet coverage 2008

BREAKING NEWS: Haile Gebrselassie breaks marathon world record in Berlin. Click here for a recap.

Haile Gebrselassie will attempt another marathon world-record in the Real Berlin Marathon on Sunday, September 28th, 2008. You can watch the action live on the Internet on the Universal Sports/WCSN network.

Haile set the current world-record (2:04:26) on the flat Berlin course last year. The field behind will be somewhat less competitive — as most of the best marathon runners competed in the Olympics — and the fastest competitors in the field have personal bests in the 2:07s. But the action will once again be the front of the pack as Haile aims to win his second Berlin title and possible break his own world record.

Live race coverage starts at 2:35AM US Eastern Time on Sunday, September 28th, 2008. That’s 11:35PM on the West Coast of the US.

To access the broadcast go to the Universal Sports web-site by clicking here.

It appears that WCSN is going through a transition to its new Universal Sports site and that they are offering the broadcast for free this year. Register on the site and you’ll find that the “package price” is $0.00 right now. Free is a pretty good price!

For those of you that don’t want to stay up late watching, we’ll have complete coverage when you wake up in the morning.
