Video — Speed work and marathon runners; a match made in Heaven?

It’s time for Episode 11 in our Desert Series on marathon running. This week Coach Joe and Coach Dean sit down next to a running track to expolore the age old question: why do I need to run on a track to get ready for the marathon?

This week’s discussion includes:
— How marathon pacing is related to other paces
— Aerobic capabilities and efficiency factors
— Speed as a function on maxium pace capability
— Workouts that can be done on the track to improve strength
— Using the stadium steps in track workouts

This video is part of our Desert Series, in which Coaches Joe English and Dean Hebert get their lips smackin’ about all things marathon running. There are over 30 episodes in the series and they come out every week on www.running-advice.com.
