Broadcasts — 2012 Olympic Marathon and Triathlon Coverage Information

running-advice-bugWith the 2012 Olympic Games upon us in London, it is time to set our DVRs and fire up our computers to watch the excitement of a couple of our favorite sports: the marathon and the triathlon. Of course, there are dozens of sports but for you dear readers, these are the ones that many of you are probably wondering about. Here is what you need to know about the broadcasts for the 2012 Olympic Marathons and Triathlons.

First, the men’s and women’s events are held on different days, so there are four event dates listed below. The 2012 Men’s Olympic Marathon is traditionally held on the last day of the Olympic games. The other women’s marathons and men’s and women’s triathlons will be held on other days throughout the festival.

2012 London Olympic Men’s Marathon — August 12th, 2012 11:00AM-1:30PM London time

2012 London Olympic Women’s Marathon — August 5th, 2012 11:00AM-2:00PM London time

2012 London Olympic Men’s Triathlon — August 7th, 2012 11:30AM-1:45PM London time

2012 London Olympic Women’s Triathlon — August 4th, 2012 9:00AM-11:30AM London time

If you are intersted in watching the events live on television or the Internet in the United States, you will want to visit NBC’s scheduling tool. NBC is the official broadcast partner for the London Olympics. What time events are on and the channel will depend on your location and time zone. NBC’s scheduling tool allows you to put in your zip code to find out when things will be on in your area. Here is the link to the tool:

NBC even has a nifty mobile application that you can find in the Google Play store or iTunes App store that will give you schedules and live streams of some events. Check it out from your phone or tablet by visiting your respective store and search for NBC Olympics.
