The Flora London Marathon is coming up this Sunday April 13th, 2008 and this year the event will be covered live over the Internet by the WCSN sports network. This will be the only live television coverage of the event in the United States.
WCSN — the World Champions Sports Network — specializes in live and archived broadcasts of sporting events around the globe. If you’ve never watched an event through WCSN, the broadcasts are typically very high quality and an enjoyable way to watch a race or sports match. After the event, most broadcasts are also available for viewing in the WCSN archives.
The Flora London Marathon will be covered live on WCSN on April 13th, 2008 with the race starting at 9:00AM GMT (London time). That would be Saturday night (or very early Sunday morning) at 1:00AM on the west coast of the United States or Sunday morning at 4:00AM on the east coast.
According to WCSN (see comment below), the race will be offered for free. Normally, a subscription to WCSN is $4.95 for a month or $49.95 for an entire year. There’s certainly no better price than free!

How will I be able to watch the London marathon on TV if I don’t currently have a subscription to WCSN? Will the coverage of the marathon be available as video on the WCSN web site?

Andrew,
Because this event is free, you’ll go to the WCSN web-site and click on the following link:
http://web.wcsn.com/schedule/main.jsp
Then on the schedule list, click on the text that says “Register” in the London Marathon area of the schedule. You’ll notice that free events require you to “register” and paid events require you to “subscribe”.
When the live broadcast starts, it will become available for you to watch it. You won’t be able to access the event until it actually starts five minutes before the start of the race (at 3:55AM EST).
